If you are a RADT in California, renewal applications now require proof of completion of a minimum 45 hours of AOD education towards certification each year. While your certification is good for 5 years, you’ll have to complete some yearly requirements to keep those credentials. Since certification to become a RADT is only temporary, to stay in the industry you have to become a Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC).
Addictions Training Institute is approved by CCAPP and CADTP in California and offers the required courses SAC 101-106, which fulfill the 45 hours (3 credits) of education for Behavioral Health Technicians to keep the RADT credentials.
